Christening Card

My friend asked me to make a Christening card for her, she wanted it to be girly & OTT as Molly's Mum is a cardmaker herself!! I think I've achieved my objective!

I used pale yellow & pale pink pearl card for the letters (cut freehand) & matting, some gingham tissue paper & various brads, buttons, gems from my stash. I printed both the poem & date panels out on the PC, the poem was scruffed up, torn & chalked pale yellow. I kept the the date panel neat & made it look like a picture frame, hanging from the letter. I covered each letter with my snowwriter to make them all glittery & girly!

by the skin of my teeth!

I made this card for a friends wedding, which unfortuantely I missed as I was poorly, but it fit nicely with the caardvarks challenge to use chipboard, but it has to be posted by 01/10/07, so I'm cutting it very fine!!

Anyway I love this card (as does DD - her fave colours are pink & lilac!) I used papers from shabby princess, to cover the card front & the letters. I printed off the definition, screwed it up, tore it & chalked it! Printed the names & date & then used brads, eyelets, ribbons, rhinestones & finished it off with a snow writer round the letter edges to bling it up!

Doodlebug House

I've wanted to do one of these, since I first saw them sometime ago & fianlly had the opportunity!

My God-Daughter had her 8th Birthday yesterday so I made one for her & she was over the moon with it! I bought a battery operated glow ball to go inside it & it looked great when it got dark!

Have to say it was quite fiddly to do, but now I've done one I'll know what to do next time ( I have a large one to decorate for xmas for us!) a word of warning to anyone I found the DST that they have already applied to the tabs to be fairly poor........ I covered it all & assembled it one eve ready for decorating the next eve, it the morning it had all popped apart, so I had to glue it with extra sticky glue & clip it all together!!!

She loves Horse's so had to put one on her card didn't I!?

buttons & dinosaurs

Made this card for my DD's little friend, the original image I saw in a mgazine (can't rememeber which one) had the dino in felt with eyelets, but as I didn't have any felt & was crafting late at night I used card & buttons! Then realised I could use it for the tech thursday challenge for this week! Isn't he cute!

The template was in the magazine, & I used a variety of cards, buttons, ribbons & a tag from my stash, along with a peel off. The tag is hand written.

It's been quiet on here ........

for the past 2 weeks, we've had HUGE problems with our broadband connection, but it's all finally sorted out so I'll be back soon with pictures to post of some of my recent creations!

DS went back to school & is happy, happy, happy although very tired!

DD started Reception and is also happy, happy, happy (yippee!!) I'm still finding it hard that my baby is at school, but it's getting easier! She's only p/t til christmas so I make the most of our afternoons! Today I was allowed to stand inside the door whilst she sorted herself out, I'm very proud of her as she's the first one to do it all on her own !!
Right off to clean the bathroom ( boy do I know how to live!?)

My card making MOJO is working overtime at the moment & I'm really enjoying using sketches, I looked through the past sketched on a few sites & came up with these 2 that I really wanted to try!
For brown spotty one I used Dovecraft papers by Kelly Harwood, Papermania silk flowers, the gem brad & ribbon were from my stash. The Black n white one used Papermania inspirations papers & silk flower the button was from my stash.

black, white n red!

This is my take on the Sisterhood Of Scrap sketch for 01/09/07 - changed it to suit a square card as I'm really into square ATM!

I used PaperMania products - Inspirations papers, Mulberry flowers, silk flower, buttons & self adhesive gems.

Sunday 2 September 2007

Bright n Jazzy!!

This is for CPS sketch #28 - Again I used some free papers from Scrapbook Inspirations, this time by Junkitz, the ribbons & buttons are from my stash, the flower is a PaperMania one & the stamp is from Studio G.

Beates WS #17

This is my take in Beate's sketch, I used sme free papers & embellishments by Ellory that I got in a Scrapbook Inspirations magazine some time back, and added some Papermania mulberry flowers & adhesive gems. The greeting is hand written.

Football Fan

My brother will be celebrating his ?? birthday next week, he's a huge football fan so when I saw this PaperNation Image it just shouted 'SIMON' to me!

As well as the PN image I also used some KF soccer papers, and I printed the greeting out on the PC as I wanted it to reach the complete width. I then stitched all the edges to finish it off.

Decoupage Delights

I don't generally like Decoupage as I find it a bit fiddly, but I've always liked the images from PaperNation as they're fun & modern. Unfortunately the picture isn't very clear for the lady (didn't take it in daylight!).

For the Gardening Lady I used Papermania - Inspirations paper ( warm tones), flower & button. dovecraft brads, PaperNation decoup image & ribbon from my stash.

Grandpa used, Dovecraft papers by Kelly Harwood, PaperMania buttons, PaperNation image & ribbon from my stash.

carte-maniak 30/8

Well my french is very poor so I hope I was supposed to just follow the sketch and that there wasn't a theme too!

Any-way decided to do yet another 'male' card as I normally find these so difficult & my last vintage car card got snapped up at the weekend!

Everything I used was by Dovecraft - papers by Kelly Harwood, Studio G stamp & brads the image is one I used previously from the net.

2 in 1

Combined 2 challenges - the Sketch from Kimmie with the theme from Rhi.
I used Dovecraft Papers by Kate Knight, PaperMania button & flowers, Dovecraft brads, Studio G stamp & ribons from my stash!

MG-T

DH has recently sold a model MG-T (pedal car) to a MG fanatic in America, we've had some wonderful correspondance with him by email & I thought that he might appreciate a card with his favourite car on the front! We're going to crate the car up tomorrow & pop this inside as a surprise for him when it finally arrives in the states!

This card is for my Brother In Law, the family live in Warkworth and the picture is of Warkworth Castle, a favourite walking spot for them & view from their house! I used the recent carte maniak sketch for it!

This is the card I made using Sketch 23 on Sketch this cards - I got the inspiration for doing a new home card from a paint sample strip that I had in my stash. I don't have a suitable stamp for the house picture, so I've been drawing my own recently!

Wednesday 22 August 2007

Tonights projects whilst my boys were watching the footie!
Used some sketches again, and made them for various challenges, black and white for Creative Ideas on Sunday and red for DCM & Technique Thursday.

Loving these sketches!!

I was browsing throught the past sketches on Beates Blog ( really must sort out my links so that they work like everyone elses!) and made some cards from my ToDo list.

The 'laugh every day'one is made from Shabby Princess Papers, with Papermania Mulberry Flowers, dark brown Dovecraft brads in the centres, & 2 ribbons from my stash.

The 'brown flower' one is made from some basic 12x12 beige cardstock, which I chalked & stamped with some Papermania Swirls. I then added a square of Stampendous paper torn on 2 sides & chalked, a brown & blue flower with a yellow gem brad for the centre, some gold ribbon from my stash & 2 chocolate brown brads & a small chalked tag to finish it off.

The 'orange buttons' one was again using Shabby Princess papers, the buttons are a recent Papermania purchase, the ribbon is from my stash, and the flower was punched from 1 of the papers, a greeting on the tag, chalked to match the scheme.

More themes!

This weeks challenge for Papercraft Junkies is transport & I combined it with this weeks sketch on Beates Blog to create this one. I used Stampendous papers, Dovecraft Eyelets & Ribbon from my stash. The picture is a copyright one that my hubby found for me (his challenge for the day!)

Happy Bunny!

After promising myself for a few weeks I finally got round to making cards using sketches or themes set on various forums & I have have to say what a wonderful way to make cards, it really got me out of my comfort zone and made me think! TBH I think this zone is comfier!

This is my take on the sketch at CPS, I mirrored the image & used Papermania papers & flowers with some ribbon & a button from my stash to finish it off.

WEDDING SET

Was commissioned to make a wedding card in Burgundy & Ivory, made a matching envelope & tag too for good measure!

Had 2 text messages yesterday, 1 from the recipient of the Friendship Book to say how lovely it was (she was texting from the airport just before leaving to start thier new lives :-( ) and the other was from the lady whom I'd made it for thanking me for making it & praising my work!! So glad it was a hit!

Friendship Book

I was asked to make this by a stranger for a mutual friend who is emigrating on the 13th of this month, it had to be small enough to fit in her hand luggage. At approx 5" x 3" x 1/2" I think it fits the bill.
It's made from a strip from 12x12 cardstock, scored, folded & decorated with stamped swirls, stitching a chipboard letter, silk flower & brad. It has small money envelopes inside to hold the individual tags. I used a range of papermania mulberry flowers, & silk flowers. The quotes were all found on the net & printed off onto plain white paper, which then I coloured with chalks. The tags were cut from cream card to fit the envelopes & again coloured with chalks to match the theme.
I really enjoyed making it.

ATC'S - vintage paris

Made for a 3x3 swop on zuzu's forum - I'm really pleased with the way they turned out, lets hope the recipients are too!?

40th Birthday Card

made this for a friend - stitched round the edges (boy I love my sewing the the moment!) and the tags all have 'facts' about 1967 ie Dr James Bedford became the first person to be cryogenically preserved with the intent of future resuscitation! (did you know that!?)

Saturday 28 July 2007

Lock & Keys ATC's

For a swop on zuzu's forum. My first ever swop with them I hope they're up to scratch!

My camera is on it's way out so the pictures don't really do them justice, I think they're lovely!

Katie's 'bit of fluff' !!!

A card I made for a very dear friend on my hen night there was a very hilarous conversation about a pair of shoes she bought with 'fluff' on the front & how she had to trim it. ( you really had to be there & be 3 sheets to the wind to appreciate the story!) but anyhow it gave me the idea for the card & she loved it!

Another Suitcase!!

Final one for the time being, I'm all suitcased out!

This one was quite hard to photograph as it has silver ribbon & letters on it. (DS insisted that silver was her favourite colour !)

Rachel's Card

Haven't been crafting much of late, before the school hols I was too busy & since the hols started I have been out during the daytime with the kids so houseworking in the evening!!??

Anway here's a card that I made for my longest (not oldest!) friend. It's bright & breezy & right up her street!

Blue & White Inchies

Well here they are, my first ever 'INCHIES' - boy are they fiddley, not sure that they'll be a forte of mine in the future but I'll definately have another go at some point!

They're for a swop on a forum, hope the recipients will be pleased.

Saturday 14 July 2007

VERY SMALL BITS OF PAPER !

Well this evening I have been making 'inchies'!
I've already started once but didn't quite get the right look so I started again today & I'm pleased to say that I'm much happier this time round!
Will finish them tomorrow & then post a picture.

Thursday 12 July 2007

Altered Suitcases

I've had these small cardboard suitcases for a while now and knew I wanted to make them girly but was waiting for the right opportunity - then DS got invited to some 'girls' parties & I just knew they'd be perfect, far nicer (IMHO!) than barbies & bratz dolls.
I had loads of full doing them & then I filled them with tissue, notebook, scented gel pens and a pack of sweets ................. Ava has her's & loves it Jade gets her's next week & hopefully she'll be just as pleased!

Sis in Law's Birthday Card

I'm really happy with this card, it's the first time I've used stitching. I've wanted to for ages, but the machine was in the shed & I couldn't be bothered to get it out, but this card just really needed it! Unfortunately the machine kept dropping the stitches so I guess I need to sort out the tension, but it did the holes so I sat quietly last night & stitched through them by hand - very therepeutic! The flower is off of a favourite bracelet, I keep loosing bits off it & adding them to my stash when I find them! I hope she likes it too!
