Just a note to say ......................

Not quite sure what it is about this card, but I love it ! It's a thank-you to some very special people after we spent a wonderful day with them in their home !

same sketch - different take on each card.

changed it around a bit for each card !! can't rememebr where this sketch came from , as I didn't write the name down like I normally do (naughty!)

One stamp 2 different cards - love them both !

Another Snappy Offering

I love the way these cards open and move ! This one was for a good friend who likes to fish and turned 40 this year.

snappy card

I made this 'snappy' card for my Mum to give to my Niece on her 18th

SLACK ALICE

I just don't seem to get much time to myself thes days, with college & homework x 2, my work placement, the house and kids. I am crafting but not blogging!

I hope to blog a little more, I've done some cards for some challenges and will post pictures later.

Just off to put my little darlings to bed.

Circle Cards

Everyso often I get bored with doing conventional square / rectangular cards and have a little change, earlier this year I went through a circular phase!!

Diary page cards

I saw the idea of tearing pages from diaries in a magazine * adapted it to make several cards for 'girlfriends' that all had birthday's around the same time (they don't know each other!)they all were really pleased to get a personalised card that was just a bit diferent!

Zig Zag cards

A friend bought me a scrapbook cards book when she came for dinner one night instead of flowers and chocs, and in it was a zigzag card which I just had to try! It became my DD's 5th birthday card and of course I made it very girly which she loved! I was so pleased with the result that I took it along to a card club that I go to monthly in the local church hall to show a couple of friends and ended up doing being roped into doing a demo in June (it all went very well and all the ladies went home with card!) they're actually easier than they look - lots of measuring!! Anyway here's the card that started it all!

'0' birthday's !!

There's been quite a few 0 birthdays this year (and still 2 more yet to come!) 2 of my step-sister's have turned 50, my step-dad was 70 and hubby was 40 (bless!) I won't bore you with all the cards just 2 that I really like.

40 was for my mum to give to my hubby, I hand cut the letters and was really pleased with the final result - love that chocolate glitter!!

The black n fushia card was for my sister, I card make at night & didn't realise until the next morning that I'd used the navy gingham ribbon not the black and I couldn't take it off at that point ( I did say a slightly naughty word!)

It's been a while!!

Took a long break from blogging - it started to take over my life and everything else started to suffer !! I've decided to start up again but to hopefully have a little more self control and will only post occasionally!

Life has been fairly busy dashing here & there with the kids and we're now totally chilled out and going into week 4 of the holidays - 3 weeks tomorrow & they're back to school. DS goes up to the junior site (gulp - no more waiting outside the classroom :-( ) and DD goes into Y1 and starts to bring homework home each friday !! On the 24th Sept I'm going to college to do an NVQ2 in Suport Teaching & Learning and will be at college on weds afernoons & doing 2 mornings a week with Y2's at our school - all very exciting but a little nervewracking too!! It's been 21 years since I last did any proper study I'm not sure how my brain is going to cope!!

Christening Card

My friend asked me to make a Christening card for her, she wanted it to be girly & OTT as Molly's Mum is a cardmaker herself!! I think I've achieved my objective!

I used pale yellow & pale pink pearl card for the letters (cut freehand) & matting, some gingham tissue paper & various brads, buttons, gems from my stash. I printed both the poem & date panels out on the PC, the poem was scruffed up, torn & chalked pale yellow. I kept the the date panel neat & made it look like a picture frame, hanging from the letter. I covered each letter with my snowwriter to make them all glittery & girly!

by the skin of my teeth!

I made this card for a friends wedding, which unfortuantely I missed as I was poorly, but it fit nicely with the caardvarks challenge to use chipboard, but it has to be posted by 01/10/07, so I'm cutting it very fine!!

Anyway I love this card (as does DD - her fave colours are pink & lilac!) I used papers from shabby princess, to cover the card front & the letters. I printed off the definition, screwed it up, tore it & chalked it! Printed the names & date & then used brads, eyelets, ribbons, rhinestones & finished it off with a snow writer round the letter edges to bling it up!

Doodlebug House

I've wanted to do one of these, since I first saw them sometime ago & fianlly had the opportunity!

My God-Daughter had her 8th Birthday yesterday so I made one for her & she was over the moon with it! I bought a battery operated glow ball to go inside it & it looked great when it got dark!

Have to say it was quite fiddly to do, but now I've done one I'll know what to do next time ( I have a large one to decorate for xmas for us!) a word of warning to anyone I found the DST that they have already applied to the tabs to be fairly poor........ I covered it all & assembled it one eve ready for decorating the next eve, it the morning it had all popped apart, so I had to glue it with extra sticky glue & clip it all together!!!

She loves Horse's so had to put one on her card didn't I!?

buttons & dinosaurs

Made this card for my DD's little friend, the original image I saw in a mgazine (can't rememeber which one) had the dino in felt with eyelets, but as I didn't have any felt & was crafting late at night I used card & buttons! Then realised I could use it for the tech thursday challenge for this week! Isn't he cute!

The template was in the magazine, & I used a variety of cards, buttons, ribbons & a tag from my stash, along with a peel off. The tag is hand written.

It's been quiet on here ........

for the past 2 weeks, we've had HUGE problems with our broadband connection, but it's all finally sorted out so I'll be back soon with pictures to post of some of my recent creations!

DS went back to school & is happy, happy, happy although very tired!

DD started Reception and is also happy, happy, happy (yippee!!) I'm still finding it hard that my baby is at school, but it's getting easier! She's only p/t til christmas so I make the most of our afternoons! Today I was allowed to stand inside the door whilst she sorted herself out, I'm very proud of her as she's the first one to do it all on her own !!
Right off to clean the bathroom ( boy do I know how to live!?)
